Antarctic Penguins by Brittercup Designs

Chart: This Brittercup Designs chart pack is printed on a double-sided, folded A3 cardboard sheet. The three designs are printed inside the booklet with a communal symbol legend and instruction list. The symbols are printed large, clear and easy to differentiate.

Stitches: Patterns uses whole Cross stitches only.

Materials: Crescent Colours cottons and Weeks Dye Works cottons. Stitched on Wichelt 28ct “Light Grey” Jobelan, Wichelt 28ct “African Daisy” Jobelan and Zweigart 28ct “Vintage Blue Whisper” linen.

Designer’s Notes: None.

Why I was attracted to this design: I have a soft spot for penguins. Like the previous polar bear charts, I think there’s something about arctic and antarctic animals. I don’t know why I have a soft spot for them, I just do.

So why haven’t I stitched it?  I haven’t gathered the materials for the large design and I haven’t figured out what to do with the smaller designs. I love the designs but they are too small to stitch and frame to hang on the wall. I don’t do biscornus or needlerolls or any other little stitched knickknacks that serve no purpose but to clutter up the place and attract dust.  So how or when do I stitch these little designs?

Where can you buy it? This design is still in print and can be easily ordered by your LNS or ONS of choice. You should pay around $US7.50.

Discussion questions: Do you also have a soft spot for penguins or arctic/antarctic designs?
