It’s Mine by a mon ami Pierre

Chart: The chart is printed on a folded Letter/A4 sized cardboard sheet.  The chart covers one side of the A4 card, so it folds straight across the design area. Over time the symbols on the fold will rub off.  However the chart is comprised of large swathes of single colours so it is easy to determine which symbols should be used. It is an elegant little chart.

Stitches: Pattern uses whole cross stitch, fractional stitches and backstitch.

Materials: DMC stranded cotton. Stitched on Zweigart 32ct “Flax” Linen.

Designer’s Notes: None.

Why I was attracted to this design: An evil-looking black cat glaring out at the viewer – how could I pass this up!

So why haven’t I stitched it? I have no excuses. I love this design. It’s straight DMC, I love the colours. I even think it works on the flax fabric and I normally dislike “dirty” or “natural” linens. I can start this one immediately ….

Where can you buy it? French designers are becoming more popular with UK and US stores so your LNS can order this on for you. Just be prepared to pay higher prices than for US designs. This design usually retails at LNS and ONS for $12US or you can purchase direct from a mon ami Pierre for €7.60.

Discussion questions: The cover picture includes a bat charm, but this is not included in the design. There is not even any reference to what charm or button was used if you wanted to include it yourself.  Have you also found an element that you love on a chart, be it a charm, or a hand dyed fabric or the frame, and yet the designer gives no indication of what that item was so you cannot replicate the whole experience?  What was the design?
