Forest Snow Flake by Keslyn's

Chart: This Keslyn’s chart is printed on a single Letter/A4 sheet of paper. The three floss symbols are printed quite large and are quite distinct from one another, even though they are of a similar size, so this appears to be an easy chart to stitch.

Stitches: Pattern uses whole cross stitch only.

Materials: DMC stranded cotton stitched on Wichelt 28ct “Egg Shell” linen or “Chai Tea” Jobelan.

Designer’s Notes: None.

Why I was attracted to this design: I’m not sure how I ended up with this chart. I was on a Keslyn’s kick there for a while and bought quite a few of her charts.  I think with this one, it was the color combination of the floss and fabric that attracted me, I just loved the way the different colours came together. I hope it works as well in real life as it does in the picture.

So why haven’t I stitched it? There were other Keslyn’s charts I bought at the same time that I liked more, so I tried to kit those up first. Of course, if I had looked at this one a little harder I would have seen that all I needed was a little Egg Shell linen and this one would be good to go.  And now Egg Shell linen is discontinued.  Lynda recommends Chai Tea as a substitute, hmmm …. we’ll see if it stitches up just as nicely.

Where can you buy it? Keslyn’s is still in business. Your LNS or ONS can specially order in this older chart for you. Expect to pay around $US9.50.

Discussion questions: Have *you* ever  bought a design simply because you liked the colours in it? Or does it have to have more than just a great colour combo to entice you to part with your money?
