Renaissance by Keslyn's

Chart: This Keslyn’s chart is printed on a single folded Letter/A4 cardboard sheet. The two floss symbols are printed quite large and are quite distinct from one another, so this appears to be an easy chart to stitch.

Stitches: Pattern uses whole cross stitch only so can easily be adapted to one-over-one or counted canvas work.

Materials: Gentle Arts Sampler Threads and ThreadworX cottons. Stitched on Zweigart 32ct “Blue Spruce” linen.

Designer’s Notes: The model was stitched with one strand of floss over two fabric threads. If you would like a bolder look try using two strands of thread over two fabric threads.

Why I was attracted to this design: This was one of the slew of Keslyn’s charts I bought all in a bunch a couple of years back.  Like the other Keslyn’s charts it was the color combination of the floss and fabric that attracted me, I just loved the way the different colours came together. I hope it works as well in real life as it does in the cover picture.

So why haven’t I stitched it? Although I have a rather large chart stash and a growing floss stash, it is only very recently that I have bought many Zweigart or Wichelt fabrics. In fact, I may just have enough left over for this design after I finish stitching Aurora Polaris.

Where can you buy it? Keslyn’s is still in business. Your LNS or ONS can easily order in this chart for you. Expect to pay around $12.00 (US).

Discussion questions: The best of these designs is how adaptable they are! Which threads and fabric combination would you use?
