Hand over the Chocolates by Eudora Designs Needlework

Chart: This Eudora Designs Needlework chart is print on one A4/Letter sheet including key chart. The symbols are printed small, but there is no confetti stitching and care has been taken to differentiate the symbols, so this design could be easily stitched without the need to enlarge the design or make a working copy.Included in the chart pack is a separate double-sided page on “A Guide to Cross stitching” which includes general starting instructions, how to diagrams for cross stitch, backstitch and French Knot and washing instructions.

Stitches: Pattern uses whole cross stitches and backstitch.

Materials: DMC stranded cotton. Stitched on 14ct “Antique White” Aida.

Designer’s Notes: Hand over the Chocolates and no one gets hurt …

Why I was attracted to this design: I love the sentiment :)  As a dedicated chocoholic and a stress bunny at work I’ve used this phrase a few times over the years ;) Although I’ve seen this saying in cross stitch form a few ways now, this was the very first one back in 2000.  So although it is a simplistic, in many ways a kitsch chart, it still makes me smile every time I see it, and that’s the definition of a chart I need to stitch.

So why haven’t I stitched it? I’m really not sure – I guess it just gets lost in the shuffle of the stash. It is such a small simple design that it gets passed over in favour of the more technically difficult or the ones with fancy threads or the more fashionable … I think of this chart but I just never pull it out and start it :)  Time to change that.

Where can you buy it? Eudora Designs has been closed for many years. If you are interested in this design I suggest you haunt eBay Australia or coax me into stitching this now and I will pass on my chart once stitched.  I will give away my chart, unmarked, once I’ve finished with it. Just comment below.
