Household Helpers by The Needle’s Notion

Chart: These two Needle’s Notion charts are printed side by side on the same A3 sheet of paper.  They are small designs easily stitched up.  Each design is almost a monochrome with the symbol dark and easily seen and followed. The design is stitched in DMC 310 (Black) with just a little DMC 317 used in the corner squares.

Stitches: Pattern uses whole cross stitch, backstitch and straight stitch. Optional satin stitch.

Materials:  DMC stranded cottons. Stitched on Zweigart 32ct “Mint Green” linen.

Designer’s Notes: Who wouldn’t appreciate a little extra help around the house? These classic maid and butler designs feature Art Deco styling. Special thanks to my mom for composing the verse for Household Helpers.

Why I was attracted to this design: A maid would come in handy. A butler would be just dandy. When I first saw this chart pack I was run off my feet, feeling tired all the time and just could not keep up with the housework. I would have killed for a maid or a butler to help out :) I also love Art Deco so the styling of this design appeals too!

So why haven’t I stitched it? This is a very new acquisition into my stash. I bought this on sale only a couple of months ago.  I have some 32ct Mint in my stash so I think I can start this one when my stash arrives!

Where can you buy it? The Needle’s Notion is definitely still on business and this design can be ordered by your LNS or ONS for $8.00 (US).

Discussion questions: Which would you prefer if you were offered their services for a week: a maid or a butler?
